Richard will be on TV with Pulp tonight (Wednesday
12th Dec) Jo Whiley's The Cut, C4 11.30pm. The
broadcast of the three songs Pulp recorded on Monday
- Weeds, I Love Life, & Bad Cover Version.
Richard has produced debut single for hotly tipped Sheffield
act Hoggboy.
The double A side 7" only single will be released by
Sobriety Records on 28.01.2002.
'Baby You're My Light', from the album 'Late
Night Final', will be released as a single by Setanta
Records on 28.01.2002. The CD is backed with 'Sick Pay',
a live favourite that was recorded around the same time
as the LP & the previously unheard 'Baby's Back'. The
artwork for the single features a scene from the same
photo shoot as the main LP & serves as a nice 'what
happened next'!
A video has been made for the single by internationally
reknowned photographer Elaine Constantine. After
turning down many other offers, the artist best known
for her hyper-real images decided this would be her
first ever pop video & it's a belter. Filmed on location
in a semi-detatched house & at an afternoon 'tea dance',
the video fetaures a club singer singing the song whilst
his Hawley-ness is represented in spirit by his much
loved lap steel guitar.
OTHER NEWS. Press reaction to the LP has been really
good in Germany where the single was on the cover mounted
CD of Rolling Stone magazine.
Initial press reaction in the USA is unanimously good,
it's released in February.
The LP is now also released in Eire, Spain & France.
Plans are underway for a select set of live dates
shortly after the single is released in the UK. Some
live dates will be added in in mainland Europe shortly
after that. Details will be posted here when
everything is finalised.
WEBSITE NEWS. We have added a new link for US based
Lucky
Dog Radio. Each week 3 hours of music are loaded
up are available to listen to. We recommend having a
listen because the whole thing is run by a music fan,
and Richard is currently featured along with a mix of
loads of good stuff.
